Financial Literacy Workshops hit the mark for job seekers

Thanks to RecruitmentSuper and Campbell Page, many job seekers are benefiting from new money management skills that are helping them to rebuild brighter futures for themselves and their families.  For some, it has even given them the confidence to take on new apprenticeships, start their own business and break a cycle of debt.

 The innovative Money Management workshops were delivered to around 70 clients at Community Hubs in Eden, Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Morwell.  Each Workshop covered the seven steps to financial management, dealing with banks, debt reduction and each person developed their own personalised Money Action Plan.

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with 98% of participants stating that the workshops gave them an increased ability to manage their money. 

But the workshops didn’t just impart knowledge; they empowered participants to take action.  Take Annabelle for example, who having completed her Money Action Plan realised that she could afford to undertake an Apprenticeship, even while living independently without family support.  She left the workshop, applied for a number of Apprentice positions and commenced one week later in her chosen field.  She described the workshop as “Awesome”.
