Less tax and a super boost

Everyone wants to pay less tax. One way you may save tax is to make salary sacrifice contributions into your super. Simply ask your employer to pay more of your pre-tax salary into your super account.

Tax benefits

If you are working, then you may be paying income tax as high as 45% plus 1.5% Medicare Levy. When you make a salary sacrifice contribution, it is paid directly into your super before income tax is deducted. You only have 15% super contribution tax applied and your income tax may be reduced.

How to make a contribution

Find out from your employer whether salary sacrifice is available to you, and also whether your employer contributions or other benefits (e.g. annual leave loading or long service leave) will be impacted by changing your taxable income.
