RecruitmentSuper prides itself on serving members and dealing with their requests as quickly as possible. This extends to helping members access their superannuation entitlements.
We work closely with members and employers to continually refine and improve core administration services, including benefit payment processes. This ensures that we can continue to maintain our usual high standard of customer service and operational efficiency, as well as minimise the risk of fraudulent activity in respect of members' money.
Benefit Payments
As the industry superannuation fund for the employment services sector, we've had plenty of benefit payment experience, particularly for casual and temporary staff who transition to permanent employment, where their new employer directs contributions to another superannuation fund.
In the last 6 months alone, over 85% of the benefit payment requests we've processed were "roll-out" requests for members wishing to transfer to other super funds. More than 94% of these roll-outs were processed within 5 business days of receiving all required information.
Security
At the same time, we understand our responsibility to ensure that members' money is held securely and responsibly, and that processes are needed to ensure member benefit payments occur when and how they should.
"Our benefit payment processes reflect our commitment to be responsible and prudent with the retirement savings of RecruitmentSuper members, and to ensure that they are able to promptly access their money when they are entitled to it," said Ross Fisher, Chairman of the RecruitmentSuper Trustee Board.
Payment Processes
Fisher further explained that RecruitmentSuper's benefit payment process is easy - usually only a very simple form is required to be completed - yet it recognises that we do not generally have a face-to-face relationship with most of our members. "We ensure that we are acting on the valid request of a RecruitmentSuper member, by requiring appropriate photo identification such as a copy of a driver's license and/or a passport".
"When the payment is to another super fund, current superannuation laws also require us to ensure that the receiving fund is a complying regulated superannuation fund."
Once all requirements are met, we make the payment quickly, using electronic payment options wherever possible, and members are advised in writing when payment is completed.
